How to measure for abdominal binder

Measuring for an abdominal binder ensures proper fit and optimal compression. Follow these steps:

  1. Identify the Measurement Area:
Measure around the widest part of your abdomen, typically across the belly button. Avoid measuring too high or too low.

  2. Use a Flexible Tape Measure:
Use a soft, flexible tape measure to ensure accuracy. Wrap it snugly around your abdomen but not too tight. Ensure the tape is level all around.

  3. Take Measurements While Standing:
Stand upright with a natural posture. If assistance is needed, ask someone to help for more accuracy.

  4. Refer to the Size Chart:
Match your measurement to the size chart provided by the binder brand. Sizes can vary between brands, so always check their guidelines.

  5. Account for Post-Surgery Changes:
If you are post-surgery and experiencing swelling, opt for a size that allows adjustability to accommodate changes during recovery.
